Guns Blazin

The past few weeks have really brought about many a question regarding the pistol pendant I wear around my neck, every day.  Well boys and girls I will explain to everyone exactly why I wear it every day.  I’ll even tell you where I got it.  Here we go:

The pistol pendant has a lot to do with my father, who sadly passed away 9 months ago yesterday from cancer, and the things he taught me over the years.  It is no surprise that people have often referred to me as a “pistol” from time to time.  I don’t really know why that is though…  ;)

Two of the greatest lessons I learned from my dad were:

#1. Never leave the house without your guns. You never know when you may need them.  Metaphoricaly meaning, be prepared for anything and everything and just know that you can handle it no matter what.

#2. Always stick to your guns.  AKA don’t back down on your morals and what you believe is right.  When it all comes back around, you’ll come out on top for that one reason.

When I first spotted the pistol pendant in a shop over 2 years ago, I immediately had to get it.  Now after having the first one stolen and the second one break, I am on my third pistol pendant, and I really do wear it every day.  And yes- it does tend to throw people off a bit, and yes-there are days when it will be wrapped around my wrist or ankle as opposed to my neck (ie-my sister’s wedding), but regardless it is always there.  Along with the lessons learned.

My current pistol pendant, along with the picture above came from the Web site:  www.charmedanddangerous.net.  It is a delightful site with incredibly priced charm necklaces.

What charm or pendant do you hold close to your heart?  Do you have one? Maybe now is the time to get one.  But remember..

If you are going to wear something, wear it with reason.    ~xoxo
